The Role
As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be a key player in building and optimizing scalable services that allow our partners to receive, manage, and market pre-owned goods. You’ll develop and maintain features such as GraphQL action handlers, integrations with e-commerce platforms like Stripe and Shopify, and data management tools. You’ll also work on systems to integrate brand catalogs from diverse APIs and platforms, while ensuring data quality and stability. Required Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, and SQL
  • Strong experience building and shipping scalable backend services
  • Familiarity with API design and integration
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance complexity with speed of delivery
  • Solid understanding of database systems (PostgreSQL, etc.)
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with GraphQL, React, or Hasura
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Next.js or Redux
  • Experience working in a customer-facing technical role, especially with APIs
  • Knowledge of Python for backend automation and integration
What You Will Be Doing
  • Building scalable, high-performance backend systems for managing pre-owned goods
  • Designing and implementing robust integrations with third-party platforms (Stripe, Shopify, etc.)
  • Optimizing data pipelines to ensure reliable and high-quality data for partner marketplaces
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improve existing systems
  • Engaging with brand partners to onboard them and understand their technical needs
Tech Breakdown
  • 30% Front End Development (e.g., collaborating with frontend team on APIs, data structures)
  • 70% Backend Development (e.g., building scalable services, writing APIs, and managing data)
Daily Responsibilities
  • 70% Hands-On (coding, building services, debugging)
  • 20% Team Collaboration (working with engineers, product, and customer teams)
  • 10% Meetings (reviewing requirements, sprint planning, and 1:1s)
The Offer
  • Salary: $175,000 - $225,000 + equity
  • Bonus OR Commission eligible
