Profitable startup in DC is looking for a VP of Engineering to oversee the technical operations of the team. This is hands-on position where you will both manage a team and do hands-on development on their core platform (roughly a 50-50 split).
This company is used by 1500 active customers who utilize their AI data platform to make inference on their users and network to assess how viable they are as point of interest and determine whether to invest time into them. Due to the success of their platform and the number of referrals they have received, they've already reached profitability, and took on series round of funding to capitalize on their momentum and build out their technical team.
In this position you will manage, train, and hire a team of engineers. They are looking for someone with extensive experience leading engineering organizations, removing developer obstacles, and who can maximize the potential of their people. The development work will revolve around full stack development, cloud engineering, and full life cycle machine learning development (model development, data pipelining, and data infrastructure). Their stack is a combination of React, Python, various Python data libraries, Postgres, AWS, and more.
Along with compensation. their package includes equity, bonus, full medical benefits, PTO, 401(k), and more.
The position is open only to candidates in the DC metro area.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of professional experience in software development
- 3+ years managing an engineering team
- Experience working in a SaaS startup environment
- Experience with modern web application development and cloud engineering
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and advancing the careers of individual contributors
- Experience with mobile application development
- Experience with full life cycle machine learning development
