Our agency is seeking a skilled and dynamic Network Engineer with advanced experience in the Fortinet suite and expertise in SD-WAN technologies to join a client of ours. This role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse clients on innovative network solutions. You’ll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, efficient, and scalable networks using Fortinet technologies.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:
- Architect and deploy network solutions using the full Fortinet suite (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, etc.).
- Configure and optimize Fortinet SD-WAN to ensure reliable connectivity and performance for distributed networks.

Operations and Maintenance:
- Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and proactive network maintenance.
- Monitor and manage network health, identifying and resolving performance issues promptly.
- Utilize FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized management and analytics.

Security Management:
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems using Fortinet solutions.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing potential risks proactively.

Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align network architecture with organizational goals.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated network issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Train and mentor junior staff or client personnel on Fortinet technologies.
Requirements:

Technical Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with the Fortinet suite (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAP, FortiSwitch, etc.).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Fortinet SD-WAN solutions.
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs).
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) is a plus.

Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in network engineering roles with significant Fortinet focus.
- Proven experience designing and managing enterprise or multi-site networks.

Certifications:
- Fortinet NSE 4 or higher required; NSE 7/8 strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, or SD-WAN certifications) are a bonus.

Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating Fortinet solutions in hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions from other vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.) is a plus.
