Our Department of Defense client in Moorestown, New Jersey, is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior System Administrator to join their cutting-edge team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established company that prioritizes innovation, quality, and continuous growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical projects and document findings to support ongoing improvement efforts.
- Manage and maintain Linux servers and desktops, providing hands-on support.
- Resolve complex support issues related to software, hardware, and networking.
- Oversee the maintenance and configuration of Linux systems, ensuring all necessary software is installed and operational.
- Set up IT hardware, services, configurations, directories, and storage systems according to project and organizational standards.
- Implement monthly security patches to safeguard systems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system installations, configurations, and issue resolution processes.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adjusting as needed to meet evolving customer demands.
- Offer strategic advice to management on technology initiatives, process improvements, and implementation strategies.
- Monitor lab performance, provide user support, and enforce IT policies.
- Develop operational procedures for lab use, identifying opportunities for improving processes, tools, and automation.
- Assist in shaping the vision and strategy for non-production environments and support their deployment.
- Install and configure AFMS products in lab environments, both on-premises and in cloud environments, as well as at customer sites.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with various server types (web, file, license, application, etc.).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, PERL, etc.).
- Experience with RHEL-based Linux distributions.
- Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible preferred; Terraform is a plus).
- Experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere v6.5 or newer.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking and TCP/IP protocols.
- Experience with patch management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to interact with users professionally.
- Self-driven with a strong aptitude for quickly learning new technologies.
