Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced Quarkus Senior Consultant to support a critical application modernization effort for a federal customer in Orlando, FL.
• This role will focus on migrating a legacy application built on JBoss EAP 6.4 and Java 8 to a modern architecture using Quarkus and the latest versions of Java, in a bare-metal, non-containerized environment.
• The successful candidate will have deep expertise in Quarkus, Red Hat JBoss EAP, and Java, with hands-on experience in application migration and modernization.
• This effort supports Client partnership with the customer to modernize their Change Management Framework, making the application more scalable, maintainable, and adaptable for future initiatives, including microservices and containerization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of the PAIRS application from JBoss EAP 6.4/Java 8 to Quarkus and modern Java.
• Analyze existing application architecture and propose modern equivalents and improvements using Quarkus.
• Ensure compatibility in a non-cloud, non-containerized (bare-metal) deployment environment.
• Collaborate with Client, government stakeholders, and development teams to deliver modernization goals.
• Apply modern development practices to increase scalability, maintainability, and adaptability.
• Document technical processes and support knowledge transfer to customer teams.
• Ensure compliance with security and performance requirements associated with government systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance (must be current and valid).
• Proven hands-on experience with Quarkus in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with Java 8 and later versions.
• Experience with Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP), especially version 6.4.
• Demonstrated expertise in application re-architecture and migration.
• Deep understanding of modern software development practices and application lifecycle management.
• Ability to operate 100% onsite in Orlando, FL.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with or for Red Hat or in Red Hat-led modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures, even if not immediately implemented.
• Knowledge of security and compliance best practices in federal environments.
