Hashicorp Vault SME/ Senior Vault Engineer

This is a full-time, 100% remote opportunity for a senior-level engineer to join a community-focused financial institution, supporting critical security and DevOps needs with a specialization in HashiCorp Vault. Operating in CST hours, this role seeks an individual to enhance and expand Vault's functionality, maximizing its security potential within an existing infrastructure.
If you’re a Vault expert looking for a position where you’ll be the go-to authority on the platform, this role is ideal for you. In addition to secrets management, you’ll work on advanced functionalities such as tokenization and Format Preserving Encryption (FPE). This is an opportunity to apply your expertise, influence the Vault strategy, and make a significant impact on the organization’s security posture. The ideal candidate will have a HashiCorp Vault Operations Professional certification and will lead the way in optimizing and evolving the use of Vault.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering or DevOps, with deep expertise in HashiCorp Vault
• In-depth understanding of secrets management, tokenization, and Format Preserving Encryption (FPE)
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault Operations Professional certification (preferred)
• Proficiency in working with Red Hat Linux or Windows Server environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to optimize security platforms

Desired Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in financial services or regulated environments
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
