Our client is seeking an experienced SCADA Software Engineer to join their energy automation team. This role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to ensure optimal automation, monitoring, and control across energy distribution networks. The SCADA Software Engineer will play a critical role in supporting our clients operations, ensuring seamless data flow, and developing innovative solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, configure, and maintain SCADA systems and associated software applications for energy automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet operational requirements and compliance standards.
- Implement, test, and deploy SCADA solutions for real-time monitoring, data acquisition, and control systems.
- Conduct diagnostics, troubleshoot issues, and perform system upgrades to optimize system performance.
- Ensure the security and reliability of SCADA systems by implementing cybersecurity protocols and best practices.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, functional specifications, and system configurations.
- Work closely with field engineers to provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
- Participate in the development of standard operating procedures and train staff on SCADA operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience with SCADA systems, preferably in the energy or utilities industry.
- Proficiency in SCADA software platforms such as Wonderware, GE iFIX, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850) and network architecture for SCADA applications.
- Experience with PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices as applied to SCADA and industrial control systems.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to document complex systems clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or professional certifications in SCADA or industrial automation.
- Experience in the renewable energy or power generation sectors.
- Familiarity with cloud-based SCADA solutions and IoT integrations.
