Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Cloud Architect to lead the design, architecture, and execution of our Azure cloud migration strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in migrating enterprise applications and infrastructure from on-premises environments to Azure, with expertise in cloud architecture best practices, scalability, security, and cost optimization. This is a contract to hire position with a 6-12 month contract duration before conversion to full-time, depending on performance and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive large-scale Azure cloud migration projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to move applications, data, and workloads from on-premises to the Azure cloud environment.
- Design and implement cloud architecture strategies for enterprise-scale applications, ensuring security, scalability, and high availability across global regions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess existing on-premises infrastructure and applications, identifying opportunities for migration and cloud optimization.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the cloud migration lifecycle, including planning, execution, troubleshooting, and post-migration support.
- Develop and maintain best practices and standards for cloud adoption, including cloud security, network architecture, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend Azure services and tools that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Conduct performance and cost optimization assessments for cloud solutions, helping the organization optimize its cloud investments.
- Ensure that cloud migration projects are executed with minimal downtime, disruptions, and business impact.
- Provide training and mentorship to internal teams to build cloud proficiency and ensure ongoing cloud adoption.
- Work closely with security, compliance, and governance teams to ensure that all cloud solutions meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 5 years focused on Azure cloud platforms and services.
- Proven experience leading complex on-prem to Azure cloud migrations for large organizations.
- Strong understanding of Azure services, including Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Azure Active Directory, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking.
- Extensive experience with cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, network security, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise cloud environments with a focus on automation, scalability, and high availability.
- Proficient in migration tools and techniques, including Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and other third-party migration tools.
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, and Bicep.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to provide solutions for complex migration and architecture challenges.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud strategies is a plus.
- Previous contract-to-hire experience is preferred.
